What you see here is an Auto Bi, powered by an E.R. Thomas engine that dates back to 1901. And it’s a rare example of the type of experimentation that was going on in the earliest years of the motorized-transportation age. In late 1900, Thomas began advertising two motorcycle models and two tricycles, all powered by motors of his own design.
