See my 1955 Cadillac Convertible in the cars for sale section 1956 Cadillac Convertible: This was an “off the frame” restoration. Every part was considered and was either accepted (after cleaning, inspection and functional check), repaired, restored, or replaced. This is a good quality restoration. I would classify this car as a 2+ condition. The car was built as a driver, not a show car. All power windows function as they should. New Top and power system overhauled. Heating system functioning correctly. Wipers work well, but we are still sorting out the washer system. Autronic Eye fully functional. Floor pans and rockers repaired with epoxy resin for metal bond, then layers of fiberglass and resin. The frame was cleaned and painted. Exhaust system is new and the gas tank overhauled. New shocks, rear leafs rebuilt, steering box and power steering overhauled. Tie rods overhauled and new king pin bushings. The tires are new, as well as the wheel bearings, brake lines, brake cylinders, shoes. The brake drums are ground and the master and power brake unit overhauled. The engine (not original to body, but is authentic to year and model) has been overhauled with new pistons, rings, bearings and valves. The water pump, Generator, Starter, Fuel pump, Carburetor and radiator have been overhauled. The transmission has been cleaned with new gaskets and is fully functional and new universal joints. The interior is beautiful! All dash components function as they should as well as the lights. Upholstery is new with some original leather. The 6-way power seat has been overhauled as well as the the radio and antenna. The remote power trunk and pull down mechanism overhauled and functioning. There is a new trunk liner. A CD player was added to the glove compartment and it only plays songs from 1956! No alterations were made. Several Spare parts are included, such as a complete overhauled 1956 Cadillac engine with all accessories, spare transmission, Sabre spoked wheels with hubcaps, continental kit, and several other bits and pieces. In summary, this is a wonderful driving machine that is an absolute pleasure to drive at a VERY reasonable price. Car comes with a reproduction, maintenance/shop manual...it was heavily used!
